It should be noted at the outset that the dissent does not discuss a single case—not one—in which it is clear that a person was executed for a crime he did not commit. If such an event had occurred in recent years, we would not have to hunt for it; the innocent’s name would be shouted from the rooftops by the abolition lobby.

While going thru the 3000 emails that had accumulated during my hospital stay, one of those was the notice of this new TED video.

Memory is particularly interesting to me right now, because, one of the results of my two strokes is that I have difficulty moving things from short term to long term memory.

While I still remember Pi to 20 decimals, the 9 (counting recently demoted Pluto) planets of the solar system, the 44 most common prepositions of the English Language (in alpha order of course), I have trouble remembering that thing from an hour ago that I wanted to remember.

I am out now.

I am not “well”, but I am no longer in the hospital and it looks like I am on track to become “well” (at least as “well” as I ever am) within a couple weeks.

The “adventure” did help me learn more about what is wrong with “health care” in our fabulous country and I’m sure I’ll be writing more about that in the months and weeks to come.

But in the shorter term is my next post about memory.

However, when I got there … no price.

I was even willing to click the link labeled “Learn more about the 30 day free trial” to see if that showed the price. Still no price.

So having spent my planned 10 seconds looking the first time and even an additional 20 seconds reading more, I decided to spend another minute and dashed off a quick 2 line email asking where to find the price.

Turns out the ONLY way to get the price is to click the links that read “Start Your Free Trial”. Then they will tell you the price.

Not my cup of tea.

I’m sure it is fine for some people, but I’m silly that way.

I won’t even take a car for a test drive until I know how much it costs.

Suffice it to say I won’t be buying one today.

Interesting to look at.
