There are certain kinds of trauma for which even the simple act of sharing the experience requires courage. People who’ve suffered harassment or assault may keep that experience bottled up from even those closest to them. Sometimes it’s because their trauma is trivialized by a culture that too often assigns blame to the assaulted rather than the perpetrators. Other times it’s because they feel a sense of personal responsibility not to put their own burdens on those closest to them. This piece is designed to represent that conditions.
